Beacom School of Business

On July 21, 2009, the USD Foundation received a $5 million gift from philanthropist T. Denny Sanford to construct a new business school. The Beacom School of Business was named in honor of PREMIER Bankcard CEO Miles Beacom. The donation was part of the $133 million Campaign South Dakota fund drive. It was presented to the university to ensure that the Beacom School of Business remains competitive with the best small business schools in the United States.

• The $19.4 million facility provides undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs. The Beacom School of Business is committed to excellence and the education of transformative leaders and employers to drive economic development.

• The 73,000 square foot facility includes a large auditorium for faculty and guest lecturers and a state-of-the-art research center.

• The building contains modern teaching/learning areas, including smart classrooms, a training facility, offices and interaction rooms for students, faculty and staff.

• The Beacom School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance College Schools of Business International, the acknowledged leader in business accreditation standards.
